Grilles were made popular by the song by rapper Nelly even though dentists have made warnings against them.They say jewellery materials like gold or diamonds can wear down the enamel(牙釉质)on your teeth and that grilles should not be worn. 2016年重庆高考英语将使用全国卷： 三大
改变及应对策略！
英语全国卷来袭，重庆明年也将加入到26个使用全国卷的城市之中。
所以2016年重庆高考，考生们面对的将是怎样的考卷？跟重庆卷到底有哪些不同？
北大附中特级教师、高考英语卷评价组成员、《高考》编委范存智老师专门为重庆的学生们，梳理了全国卷与重庆卷的不同点。
变化一：词汇量增加完形填空缩水
对于全国卷和重庆卷的区别，范存智老师列出的第一点就是：“明年我们将面对的不是3200个词汇，而是3500个词汇”。
所以词汇量不够的同学们，要增加自己的字库。并且学生还应多注意一些缩写词的表达，例如“3WK”（三周）。
还有多注意科普类和健康饮食类的词语收集，这将是全国卷新增词汇的重点。
完形填空，重庆卷是2篇，而全国卷只有一篇文章，250词左右，有20个空。
变化二：新增“七选五”、“改错题”、“短文填词”
新增的内容，有“七选五”、“改错题”和“短文填词”。
其中“七选五”是高考各个大题块当中得分率比较低的，而且重庆的学生没见过。
全国卷还有“改错”、“短文填词”，也是重庆卷没有的。原来是15道单选题，明年是见不着了。
关于短文填词，2015年全国卷是一个空填一个词，2016年全国卷，一个空有可能填2—5个词，这方面难度会增大。而填词大约分为几类：功能词、小品词、介词、助动态、形态动词。
变化三：作文两篇变一篇命题贴近生活
重庆卷的作文是2篇，而全国卷的作文是一篇，要求100词左右，上不超过120词，下不低于80词。
再有就是作文标题，全国卷有部分中文注释，更方便学生答题。
短文写作全国卷这十年来命题的原则，都是贴近生活的，发生过，正发生，或者很快能发生的事。
词汇增加了，题型变化了，同学们应该如何应对？范存智老师总结的几大经验，让学生们受益匪浅。
第一：睹物思词，扩大视野。看到什么，就立即想想用英语怎么表达。
第二：读书念报，过目不忘。天天读点看点。
第三：归纳辨析，火眼金睛。
第四：信手拈来，相关的词语你串接起来就能使很多东西熟悉起来。
第五：中英参半，常说多练。不要怕说不好，要敢于开口，哪怕中英参半，也比不说的好。

Five years ago, when I taught art at a school in Seattle, I used Tinkertoys as a test at the beginning of a term to find out something about my students. I put a small set of Tinkertoys in front of each student, and said:”Make something out of the Tinkertoys. You have 45 minutes today - and 45minutes each day for the rest of the week.”
A few students hesitated to start. They waited to see the rest of the class would do. Several others checked the instructions and made something according to one of the model plans provided. Another group built something out of their own imaginations.

Reading can be a social activity. Think of the people who belong to book groups. They choose books to read and then meet to discuss them. Now, the website BookCrossing.com turns the page on the traditional idea of a book group.
Members go on the site and register the books they own and would like to share.
BookCrossing provides an identification number to stick inside the book. Then the person leaves it in a public place, hoping that the book will have an adventure, traveling far and wide with each Bruce Pederson, the managing director of BookCrossing, says, “The two things that change your life are the people you meet and books you read. BookCrossing combines both.”
Members leave books on park benches and buses, in train stations and coffee shops. Whoever finds their book will go to the site and record where they found it.
People who find a book can also leave a journal entry describing what they thought of it. E-mails are then sent to the BookCrossing to keep them updated about where their books have been found.
