For example, we can go to school on foot or by bike . we can use shopping basskets not plastic bags .when we go shopping and we can use both sides of the paper when we write .In a word ,if everyone pays more attention to our environment ,there will be less pollution and our life will be better.

The earth scale change of climate has brought a new kind of natural disaster and the developed and complicated city system is holding a latent risk of expanding the damage artificially. Also people has been spoiling the health since the immense quantity of chemicals have been produced and already used in pursuit of convenience and various toxic substances have been produced unintentionally and accumulated in environment. Therefore, We need some countermeasures from the viewpoint to prevent the city

environment form disaster and to manage environmental risks. So we will develop and improve a new risk management system and a disaster

prevention system to preserve and create the city environment where people feel easy and sound in their life.

Some people believe that economic development should never be at the cost of the environment. They think the present serious environmental problems are largely caused by rapid?economic development. For example, land resources are shrinking because of the industrial development and the expansion of cities. Deserts are spreading because of over grazing, poor fanning, tree cutting, and strip mining. Our air and water supplies are being polluted by poisonous gassesand waste products. It is important, therefore, that we should take another look at the way in which our industries and cities are developing. However, other people think it unnecessary to consider

environmental problems now and our first priority should always be given to economic development. They believe that environmental problems are

inevitable and unavoidable in the process of economic development. They are only the by products of economic development, which can be dealt with later when we have the time and money.

I think the second idea is completelywrong. Our ultimate aim in economic

development is to provide a comfortable and happy life for our people. What is the point of economic development if we achieve it at the cost of our

environment? There has been much evidence to prove that a balance between the two helps more rapid and continuous development.

Good morning, my honorable judges:

I feel so happy to have the chance to make a speech. The title of my speech is “Protect the Environment”. I hope you will like it.

Everybody knows waste paper and used coke cans are discarded everywhere. You might have seen plastic bags flying in the sky and getting caught in the trees when the wind blows or maybe you have seen old cans floating in the rivers. Our environment is the place which we live, but it is being ruined by us. There is a story about a house and trees. It is said that a man’s house was surrounded by a lot of trees. Though the wind was strong, that man could have a good rest under the trees. How comfortable the life was! One day, that man wanted to enlarge his house, so he cut down all the trees. Then the autumn came without the protection. The strong wind blew the roof of the house into the sky. The whole house was gone with the wind. What a pity! But that’s the price people have to pay for destroying in the ecology balance. People shouldn’t be

short-sighted. Protecting the environment is everyone’s task. As you know, there are four kinds of pollution. They are air pollution, water pollution, waste pollution and noise

pollution. But what can we do to solve the pollution? I think, first, we can make cars that don’t pollute the environment. Second, we can try to use less water and make sure that we do not pollute the water. Third, we should not throw rubbish in the parks. We can pick up rubbish if we see it. Fourth, we can live far from the noise.

The air, water and the whole atmosphere directly influenced our lives, such as the air, people may cough and it will lead to cancer. So we must try our best to keep the world clean and tidy. You might ask yourself, “Have I ever picked up some rubbish and thrown it into a dustbin? Have I ever collected waste paper or bottles for recycling?” If your answers are “Yes”, it means that you have already done something useful to improve the environment.

In order to make the environment clean, let’s join our hands together to make the world better.

We live in the world every day. We eat food, drink water, wear clothes, watch TV, use computers and so on. We are producing waste every moment.

Generally speaking, there are four sorts of waste. They are material waste, organic waste, inorganic waste and poisonous & harmful waste. Now, we are going to talk about each sort of waste one by one.

Material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from which something else can be made. For example, people throw away the used metal products and buy a new one, so the old metal waste accumulates. At last, they become waste. For example, when people finish reading newspaper, the paper will become waste. When the glass is broken, it also becomes waste. Nobody wants to use a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of broken glasses. Once it is broken, it becomes waste. The rate of using plastics is increasing day by day. People use plastic bags because they are convenient. When they get home, they throw the plastics way, paying no attention to the environment. The more convenience plastics brings to us, the more plastic waste is produced. This is called "white pollution" as most plastics are white. Some of our products we use every day are made of rubber, just like the tyres and the bottom part of our shoes. It's true that rubber plays an important role in our life. However, it also brings us some trouble when it has been used for a long time and becomes old. The old tyres become waste because it can't break down by nature. This is really a big problem.

Wherever we go , we can find rubbish was carelessly disposed. Too many cars make noise and give off poisonous gas.The air is not as fresh as before. Trees on the hills have been cut down. The waste water is being poured into river.So you see, pollution is threatening our existence.

Now, it's time for each of us to protect the environment. But what can we do to protect the environment? For example, we can go to school on foot or by bike.we can refuse to use plastic bags when we go shopping. We can put the rubbish into garbage can when we see it.We can recycle paper,bottles,and plastic. So you see,it’s so easy to protect the environment.

The earth is like our mother,she provides us with fresh air,clean water and comfortable environment. But now, our mother is getting injured. How can we see it happen but do nothing? Ladies and gentlemen,“There is only one earth”. Let’s take actions to protect the earth . Let’s take actions to fight with pollution. Let’s take actions to protect the environment. When I was young,I lived in a beautiful countryside.There were many flowers and trees.In the morning,I could hear the birds singing.The air was very fresh, the water in the river was so clean and clear,the street was clean and tidy.How nice it is!

But now,the environment around us is getting worse and worse .In some places ,we can’t see fish swimming in the river , we can’t see any trees on the hills. The air is not fresh any more. The waste water from factories is being poured into river .Our homeland is getting injured.

As a student,we should do something to protect the environment..But what can we do? For example，We can go to school on foot or by bike . When we go shopping,we can use shopping baskets instead of plastic bags and we can use both sides of the paper when we write . We can recycle paper,bottles,and plastic.we can put up more "Don't litter" signs.We can pick up garbage when we see it.There are many things we can do to protect the environment.

Protect the Environment

Good morning, my honorable judges:

I feel so happy to have the chance to make a speech. The title of my speech is “Protect the Environment”. I hope you will like it.

Everybody knows waste paper and used coke cans are discarded everywhere. You might have seen plastic bags flying in the sky and getting caught in the trees when the wind blows or maybe you have seen old cans floating in the rivers. The dirty water from factories and our community is flowing into rivers and sea. Our

environment is the place where we live, but it is being ruined by us.

There is a story about a house and trees. It is said that a man’s house was surrounded by a lot of trees. Though the wind was strong, that man could have a good rest under the trees. How comfortable the life was! One day, that man wanted to enlarge his house, so he cut down all the trees. Then the autumn came without the protection. The strong wind blew the roof of the house into the sky. The whole house was gone with the wind. What a pity! But that’s the price people have to pay for destroying in the ecology balance. People shouldn’t be

short-sighted. Protecting the environment is everyone’s task.

As you know, there are four kinds of pollution. They are air pollution, water pollution, waste pollution and noise

pollution. But what can we do to solve the pollution? I think, first, we can make cars that don’t pollute the environment. Second, we can try to use less water and make sure that we do not pollute the water. Third, we should not throw rubbish in the parks. We can pick up rubbish if we see it. Fourth, we can live far from the noise.

The air, water and the whole atmosphere directly influenced our lives, such as the air, people may cough and it will lead to cancer. So we must try our best to keep the world clean and tidy. You might ask yourself, “Have I ever picked up some rubbish and thrown it into a dustbin? Have I ever collected waste paper or bottles for recycling?” If your answers are “Yes”, it means that you have already done something useful to improve the environment.

In order to make the environment clean, let’s join our hands together to make the world better.
